190- INDEED, IN THE CREATION OF THE HEAVENS AND EARTH, AND THE SEQUENCE AND SUCCESSION OF THE NIGHT AND DAY, ARE SIGNS FOR THOSE OF SOUND MINDS.

191- THOSE WHO REMEMBER ALLAH, STANDING, SITTING AND LYING ON THEIR SIDES, AND THINK OF THE CREATION OF THE HEAVENS AND EARTH.  “OUR LORD, YOU DID NOT CREATE THESE IN VAIN, GLORY TO YOU; PROTECT US FROM THE PUNISHMENT OF THE FIRE”.

192- “OUR LORD, HE WHOM YOU ADMIT TO THE FIRE YOU HAVE HUMILIATED, AND THE EVIL DOERS HAVE NO SUPPORTERS”

193- OUR LORD, WE HEARD A CALLER, CALLING FOR BELIEF SAYING: ‘BELIEVE IN YOUR LORD’, AND WE BELIEVED.  OUR LORD; FORGIVE US OUR SINS, BLOT OUT OUR EVIL DEEDS, AND LET US DIE AMONG THE RIGHTEOUS”.

194- “OUR LORD AND GIVE US WHAT YOU PROMISED US THROUGH YOUR MESSENGERS, AND DO NOT HUMILIATE US ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION, FOR YOU NEVER BREAK A PROMISE.

195- AND THEIR LORD RESPONDED TO THEM (saying): “I DO NOT RENDER IN VAIN THE DEEDS OF YOU, MALE OR FEMALE, YOU ARE ONE FROM ANOTHER.  THOSE WHO MIGRATED,  TURNED OUT OF THEIR HOMES, WERE HURT IN MY CAUSE, THOSE WHO FOUGHT AND THOSE WHO WERE KILLED, I WILL BLOT OUT THEIR EVIL DEEDS AND ADMIT THEM TO GARDENS WITH RIVERS FLOWING UNDERNEATH, A REWARD FROM ALLAH, FOR ALLAH HAS THE EXCELLENT REWARD.

Aysha, Allah’s messenger’s wife reported: “He (Mohamed prayer and peace upon him) came to me one night, and went to bed.  When his skin touched my skin, he said: “O Aysha, permit me to worship my Lord”.  She said: “I like you to be near and I like your loving”.  He went to a water-skin near by, and poured water for wadoo.  He stood to pray and recited the Quran until he cried, and I saw tears pouring down to his legs.  Then he sat down, thanked Allah and praised him and cried, until I saw tears running down to his lap.  Then he lied on his right side and cried until I saw tears pouring down on the ground.  Then Belal came to call him for Salah Al-Fajr, saying: “Al-Salah Allah’s messenger.  When Belal saw him crying he said: “Allah’s messenger, do you cry while Allah has forgiven you your past and coming sins?”  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “O Belal, would I not be a thankful slave?  And why should I not cry when Allah has sent down to me tonight “INDEED, IN THE CREATION OF THE HEAVENS AND EARTH, AND THE SEQUENCE AND SUCCESSION OF THE NIGHT AND DAY, ARE SIGNS FOR THOSE OF SOUND MINDS………………………….”  Woe to he who recites these Ayahs without thinking about them”.  (Ibn Haban)

“IN THE CREATION OF THE HEAVENS AND EARTH, AND THE SEQUENCE AND SUCCESSION OF THE NIGHT AND DAY, ARE SIGNS FOR THOSE OF SOUND MINDS”.

Any one who might doubt the presence of Allah the Highest, should look at the Heavens and Earth, and their creation, and the sequence and alteration of the night and day, should find enough evidence of the presence of Allah the Highest.

The Magnitude, Magnificence and complexity in the mean time order, of the Heavens and Earth, point to some magnificent intellect which designed and magnificent power which created them.  The creation of these things are not arbitrary or by chance.

Those of sound mind will see Allah the Highest reflected in His creation.  They are not necessarily those with the highest I.Q or who have the best degrees in education, but they are those who understand the meaning of what they see.  Then Allah the Highest describes those of sound minds.

“THOSE WHO REMEMBER ALLAH, STANDING, SITTING AND LYING ON THEIR SIDES, AND THINK OF THE CREATION OF THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH”.

Remembering Allah the Highest in all times and situations is a marker of those of sound mind.  They remember Allah the Highest through:

<!--[if !supportLists]-->1-    Salah: is Zekr i.e. remembrance of Allah the Highest, who said: “YOU WHO BELIEVE, WHEN IT IS CALLED FOR THE SALAH ON FRIDAY, GO FOR THE ZEKR OF ALLAH”.  (S:62 A:9)<!--[endif]-->

The Salah has been called Zekr (remembering Allah the Highest).  Zekr does not require any precondition, so it can be performed in every time and situation.  Salah can also be prayed standing, sitting or lying down.  One of Allah’s messenger’s companions called Emran Ibn Haseen said: “I suffered from piles, therefore I asked Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him about the Salah (in my condition), he said: “Pray standing, if you can not, pray sitting down, if you can not, pray lying down on your side”.  (B:Tafseer;19 & D:Salah;175 & T:Salah;157 & Ma:Eqamah;139 & A:4;426)

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2-    Reciting the Quran, for Allah the Highest called the Quran Zekr saying: “WE SENT THE ZEKR DOWN, AND WE WILL PRESERVE IT”. (S:15 A:9)<!--[endif]-->

“THIS IS WHAT WE RECITE TO YOU OF THE AYAHS AND THE WISE ZEKR”. (S: 3 A: 58)

“THIS IS A BLESSED WE SENT DOWN, DO YOU DENY IT? (S: 21 A: 50)

<!--[if !supportLists]-->3-    Zekr: Is to bring Allah the Highest to mind, praising, glorifying, thanking, asking for forgiveness etc.  Aysha, Allah’s messenger’s wife reported: “The prophet used to do the Zekr in all times and conditions”. (B:Tafseer Sorah 2;25 & M:Mosafreen;139 & A:3;149)<!--[endif]-->

One does not have to make any preparations like wadoo for Zekr or face Qibla or adopt any special posture.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->4-    Thinking about the creation of the Heavens and Earth and their marvels and contemplating Allah’s creation, is bringing Allah the Highest to mind is a form of Zekr.<!--[endif]-->

“OUR LORD, YOU DID NOT CREATE THESE IN VAIN, GLORY TO YOU; PROTECT US FROM THE PUNISHMENT OF THE FIRE”

When those of sound minds look at the Heavens and Earth, and think about their creation, they come to the conclusion that they were not created in vain, and there must be a reason for their creation.  It may be that we do not understand all the reasons behind the creation of the Heavens and earth, but we can see the great power and ability of Allah the Highest.  This brings us to understand that the Creator of all this is able to create Hereafter, Paradise and Hell-Fire, Resurrect people and all creation.

Appreciating the greatness of the creation of the Heavens and Earth, we glorify the Creator and Praise Him.  We ask for His protection from the worst end, that is the Hell-Fire.

- “OUR LORD, HE WHOM YOU ADMIT TO THE FIRE YOU HAVE HUMILIATED, AND THE EVIL DOERS HAVE NO SUPPORTERS”

As the Hell-Fire is not just painful, but also humiliating, it is a bad end particularly for those of great pride and arrogance on Earth.  Well know that from Allah the Highest the Creator, there can not be any protection, for no one has any power against Allah the Highest.

“OUR LORD, WE HEARD A CALLER, CALLING FOR BELIEF SAYING: ‘BELIEVE IN YOUR LORD’, AND WE BELIEVED.  OUR LORD; FORGIVE US OUR SINS, BLOT OUT OUR EVIL DEEDS, AND LET US DIE AMONG THE RIGHTEOUS”.

The believers of sound minds know that they committed a great deal of sins, and if Allah the Highest does not forgive them, they will be punished for them.  They plead for Allah’s forgiveness and Mercy.  They do not plead with their Salah, Fasting, Zakah, Hajj or charity, but plead with their Faith, believing in Allah and worshipping no partners with Him.  This is the one deed without which all others are of no value.  In the meantime, they ask Allah the Highest to guide them and let them live righteously and die righteous.

“OUR LORD AND GIVE US WHAT YOU PROMISED US THROUGH YOUR MESSENGERS, AND DO NOT HUMILIATE US ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION, FOR YOU NEVER BREAK A PROMISE”

Allah the Highest does not need reminding of His promises, nor does He need reminding to keep it, but the believers plead to Him with His promise to them.  Allah the Highest said: “AND WHO IS MORE FAITHFUL TO HIS COVENANT THAN ALLAH”.  (S: 9 A: 111)

Allah the Highest promised the believers Paradise, if they in Him and do not worship any partners besides him.  Abu Zar El-Gefari Allah’s messenger’s companion reported that he was with Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him.  He asked Abu Zar to wait for him and he went away and on his way back Abu Zar hear Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him say: “Even if he steals and commits adultery?”  He asked Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him as to whom was he talking to?  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “This was Gabriel peace upon him, he came to me and said: “Give your Nation the good news that whoever dies believing in Allah and believing in no partners with him, he will enter the Paradise”.  I said: “O Gabriel, even if he steals and commits adultery?”  Gabriel said: “Yes”, Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Even if he steals and commits adultery”, Gabriel said: “Yes and even if he drinks wine”.  (B: Reqaq; 13-14 & M: Eman; 153,154 & T: Eman; 18 & A: 5; 152,159)

Moaz Ibn Jabal reported: “I was riding behind Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him on the back of a donkey called Afir.  He said: “Moaz, do you know Allah’s rights upon his slaves and His slave’s rights upon him?”  He said: “Allah and His messenger know best”.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Allah’s right upon his slaves is to worship Him and to worship no partners besides Him, and the slave’s right upon Allah is not to punish them if they worship Him and worship no partners besides him”.  Moaz said: “Allah’s messenger, shall I tell people the glade tidings?”  He said: “Do not for they might depend on it”.  (B: Jihad; 46 & M: Eman; 48, 49)

Allah the Highest responded to this plea:

“I DO NOT RENDER IN VAIN THE DEEDS OF YOU, MALE OR FEMALE, YOU ARE ONE FROM ANOTHER.  THOSE WHO MIGRATED,  WERE TURNED OUT OF THEIR HOMES, WERE HURT IN MY CAUSE, THOSE WHO FOUGHT AND THOSE WHO WERE KILLED, I WILL BLOT OUT THEIR EVIL DEEDS AND ADMIT THEM TO GARDENS WITH RIVERS FLOWING UNDERNEATH, A REWARD FROM ALLAH, FOR ALLAH HAS THE EXCELLENT REWARD”.

Allah the Highest does not render the deeds of any of His believing slaves in vain, and Allah the Highest reward for the good deeds are very generous.  Allah the Highest stresses the fact that He rewards the male and female in the same way, neither one of them is more or less than the other.

Allah the Highest stresses on 5 groups in particular.

<!--[if !supportLists]-->1-    THOSE WHO MIGRATED<!--[endif]-->

<!--[if !supportLists]-->2-    WERE TURNED OUT OF THEIR HOMES<!--[endif]-->

<!--[if !supportLists]-->3-    WERE HURT IN MY CAUSE<!--[endif]-->

<!--[if !supportLists]-->4-    THOSE WHO FOUGHT<!--[endif]-->

<!--[if !supportLists]-->5-    THOSE WHO WERE KILLED<!--[endif]-->

Allah the Highest promised them forgiveness of their sins and blotting out their evil deeds, then the Paradise.  This does not apply to them only but to us as well.

Allah the Highest promised not to humiliate those believers, when He gives a believer his book of deeds in his right hand, having blotted their sins out, the believer will be proud of it, and wants others to read it.  Allah the Highest said: “HE WHO IS GIVEN HIS BOOK IN HIS RIGHT HAND WILL SAY: “HERE, READ MY BOOK (record)”.  (S: 69 A: 19)

Each believing Muslim will be judged by Allah the Highest in private.  He will be shown his good and evil deeds and admit to them, in private still.  Then Allah the Highest will give the believers going to Paradise the book of their good deeds only in their right hand, and they will be proud of its content, and show it to others.  Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “On the Day of Resurrection, the believer will be brought near to Allah the Exalted in Power, the Majestic, Allah will cover him with his cover and make him read his book (of deeds) and admit to his sins.  And He will say: “Do you know them?”, and the believer will say: “Yes my Lord, I know them”.  He (Allah) will say: “I covered them up for you on the lower life, and I forgive them for you today”.  The disbelievers and hypocrites will be called before all people: “These are those who lied concerning Allah”.  (B: Tafseer Sorah 11; 4 & M: Tawbah; 52 & Ma: Moqademah; 13)

We should remember to do good deeds whenever we sin, for the good deeds clear away the bad deed.  Allah the Highest said: “AND ESTABLISH SALAH BOTH ENDS OF THE DAY AND AT THE APPROACH OF NIGHT, FOR THE GOOD DEEDS CLEAR AWAY THE BAD DEEDS, THIS IS A WORD TO REMEMBER, FOR THOSE WHO REMEMBER”.  (S: 11 A: 114)

And Allah’s messenger prayer and peace upon him said: “Follow the bad deed with a good deed and it will blot it out”.  (T: Ber; 55 & D: Reqaq; 74 & A: 5; 153,158)
